Stress from changes, new environment, anxiety, new pets can reduce appetite and cause unintentional weight loss in cats.


Intestinal worms and parasites can rob nutrients from the body and affect absorption leading to weight loss in cats.


Frequent vomiting and diarrhea episodes can lead to dehydration, electrolyte imbalances and weight loss. Look for underlying causes.


Underlying illness like diabetes, hyperthyroidism, cancer or other diseases can cause noticeable weight loss in cats. A full veterinary exam is essential.
